Description:
Tufted perennials; culms, 50 cm high; nodes sparsely hairy. Leaves 20-25 x 1 cm, elliptic-lanceolate, acute, narrowing towards the base, pubescent above; sheath keeled, glabrous; ligule a row of hairs. Panicle 15 x 7-8 cm, effuse; axis and branches hairy. Spikelets 4-5 x 3 mm, ovate-lanceolate, pedicelled; glumes sub-equal, 2.5-3 x 1.5 mm, ovate, acute; lemma 5 x 1 mm, lanceolate, 7-nerved, densely hairy; palea 4 x 1 mm, lanceolate, 2-nerved, densely hairy; anthers 3 mm long; style very short; stigma 1.5 mm long.
