Last week someone in Mexico decided to do a very foolish thing we've already warned against several times: pointing a laser beam at an airplane. This wasn't just any airplane, however; it was carrying Pope Francis.

The Alitalia Airbus A330-200 was landing in Mexico City when the pilot noticed a laser beam and reported it to traffic control and local police. As we've previously mentioned, pointing laser beams at airplanes and helicopters is incredibly dangerous, as it can cause temporary blindness in pilots, endangering the flight.

If you need any more convincing, here's an example of what happens when you mess with the wrong pilot.
