Contribution to landscape of historic garden, remnant native vegetation. This very large and mature example of a Manna Gum (Eucalyptus viminalis subsp. viminalisi) makes a significant contribution to the landscape within the historic Glenormiston property. It is the dominant tree within the surrounding landscape and the tree's physical size provides a focal point around the homestead entrance. This Manna Gum is also important as it is more than likely a remnant tree from very early in the property's history and is therefore of considerable age (estimated to be in excess of 150 years). There is no recorded history of a relationship between the tree and the residence. It is an outstanding specimen in excellent health, sound structural condition and good format, near the edge of its geographic range. The location and arboricultural attributes of the tree indicate that the tree has a long life ahead of it still, despite its estimated age. Measurements: 17/06/2010
