How To Use Google Maps Driving Directions To Determine Round Trip Mileage (RTM)

1. Go to the Google search page at http://www.google.com and click "Maps" on the black menubar located at the top of the page.

2. On the Google Maps page, click the "Get directions" button.

Click the "Get directions" button.

3. Enter address information. Enter the client's address in box A. Enter the facility's address in box B. Click "GET DIRECTIONS."

1. Enter applicant's home address including city and state in the A box. 2. Enter the provider's physical address including city and state in the B box. 3. Click on "GET DIRECTIONS".

NOTE: Zip codes are not necessary.

4. After clicking "GET DIRECTIONS", a result page will be shown. From the results, locate the route with the shortest distance. Multiply this number by 2 to get the product. Round to the nearest whole number to get RTM. In this example, the shortest trip distance is 16.4. Multiply this number by 2 to get the product of 32.8. Round to the nearest whole number to get the RTM of 33.
