Mat sandbur as seen along the Klickitat Trail between Pitt and the Fisher Hill Bridge............October 14, 2012. This weedy species prefers sandy, disturbed soils. The barbs are sharp and can attach to clothes or shoes and be easily transported from one spot to another.

Mat sandbur as seen along the Klickitat Trail between Pitt and the Fisher Hill Bridge............October 14, 2012. The burs are very sharp and difficult to remove without getting restuck in another finger when trying to remove!
