The photo above shows the needles and cones of western hemlock as seen along forest road #23 above 3000' on the southwestern slopes of Mt. Adams........October 14, 2005. The flattened leaves are largely 2-ranked on the sides of the twigs and are of unequal lengths. All photos on this page were taken at the same location.
