Botanical Description

Leaves deciduous, long-stalked, rounded to kidney-shaped, to 5cm wide, crenate. Fruits to 5mm long, broadly ovoid to globose, orange to red but rarely produced as this species is usually dioecious. Southern South America, lowland to subalpine in wet places. Makes good ground cover in moist soil but can be invasive. The hardiest species but the leaves are frost tender.
