I blindly bought this Echo Spot without knowing anything about it. I set it up in my bedroom. Upon examining it, I noticed a spot the looked like a camera lens. I shined my flashlight on it and got freaked out. I did some research and discovered it’s NOT a camera BUT it looks like one. Why in the world would Amazon include something that looks like a camera knowing that was an issue with the first Echo Spot in 2017. Ultimately, I’m returning the device because it’s a little sus and doesn’t do enough. Paying $80 for a tap-to-stop alarm and small display doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t want to get up and turn off my alarm. I’m lazy, I’d rather say “Alexa stop” and ask what time it is repeatedly throughout the day. However… a camera WITH a shutter button would’ve been amazing. Having the option to cover the camera would’ve given peace of mind. Why didn’t Amazon just do that??? That would’ve opened the door to many more features.

I wanted to love the Echo Spot, but there is a huge design flaw that’s ultimately going to cause me to return it. When you are playing music or any sound effect, the entire display shows what you’re listening to, instead of the time. You can get the clock back by asking Alexa to “return to Home Screen”, but it’s annoying, especially if you wake in the middle of the night and want to see what time it is. This feature defeats the purpose of it being a bedside clock, in addition to a speaker, in my opinion. If I always have to ask what time it is, or give it a command, to see the time. It is also glitchy. Just randomly stops playing music sometimes, as another reviewer mentioned. I’ll be returning it.

We absolutely love our Amazon Echo Pops, they are not only adorable in any room but, quite functional!! They have several colors and styles to choose from and can be added to any room. We use ours to play music in different rooms or to send an announcement to anyone who isn’t in the room, we also play tricks on each other with these!! We use Alexa to ask about the weather for the day, to add items to different shopping lists, Alexa also keeps us up to date on any and all Amazon deliveries and Amazon sales that are available on an item on our list. We love these and plan on getting a few more because we really like the speakers, the sound and volume is really great!! The controls to this are simple and the voice capabilities are fantastic!! Plus, these are incredibly durable and last forever!!

From the start of opening, I was impressed! This smart speaker has a nice weight to it and looks really cool!
I chose blue to match the bedroom color, which matches perfectly.
Best new addition for the bedroom, has a lovely responsive touch screen, so easy to set alarms with voice commands. I have set up to read me the news when I wake up. I also turn my lights on and off, for bed time and wake up. Superb bedroom alarm clock with a nice night mode and easy to read display. Highly recommend, love it!
