はじめに、このMDR-7506は偽物（ボリュームを上げても音量が上がらない等粗悪なもの）が多く出回っているらしく、オークションや某有名通販サイトの並行輸入品は危険という噂だったので、ゲーマーの知人の勧めでeイヤホン様より購入しました。早速届いたので動作を確認、現在使用中ですが、届いたものは全く問題ないようで安心しています。購入に際し、同社のMDR-CD900STと物凄く迷いました。恐らく、初めてDAWを買う際にSONARとCubaseのどちらを選ぶか、もっと昔だとドラ〇エ5でビアンカとフローラのどちらを選ぶか（笑）、くらい悩みました。最終的にこちらのMDR-7506を選んだ要因しとては、第一に価格、次いでプラグの形状、この2点です。恥ずかしながら当方、10,000円越えのヘッドフォンを買うのは初めてなので、いきなり高価なCD900STを買う勇気はありませんでした。自分の場合PCへの接続はオーディオインターフェース（steinberg UR22mk2）経由なので、通常のフォンプラグでも構わないのですが、スマートフォンやテレビに接続する際はミニプラグが必要なので、この点では7506の方が使い勝手が良いです。以下は使用用途別の感想です。1. ゲーム主にPCでMMORPGを複数タイトル、廃人プレイします。FPSのように音の解像度や距離感が要求される場合はCD900STの方が好適だと思いますが、自分の場合はBGMを楽しめれば良い程度なので7506で十分です。プレイ時間（使用時間）が非常に長いので、耐久性は勿論、交換可能な部品が手に入るという点もSONYのMDR～シリーズは魅力だと思います。2. DTMWindows環境でDAWはCubaseのみ、楽器はギターのみ使用です。楽曲制作は演奏特化の本格派というPro tools組とは違い、自分はほぼ打ち込みなので、やはり7506の方で十分だと思います。アマチュアでも拘る場合はCD900STで音のアラ探しをし、シビアに追い込むという人もいると思いますが、自分の場合は楽しめれば良いのでそこまでやる必要はありません。3. 音楽鑑賞ほぼ女性ヴォーカルのアニソン（水樹奈々さん、田村ゆかりさん等）がメインです。本来はスピーカーで聴きたいところですが、7506なら周囲に迷惑を掛けずに満足な音質で楽しめます。安物のヘッドフォンにありがちな余計な重低音のブーストであったり、薄っぺらさがない点も良いですね。リスニング用途としては、CD900STより7506の方が疲れにくいのではないでしょうか。4. アニメ主にテレビで見るので、本機のミニプラグが大活躍です。CD900STだと標準フォンプラグのみなので、これに変換プラグを付けて使用すると接点部分への負荷が心配（その必要はないかもしませんが）です。最後に、欲を言えばカールコードが取り外し可能であれば尚良し、かなとも思いましたが、元が業務用なので仕方ないのでしょう。あと、個人的に長時間使用しているとパッドの部分で耳が痛くなるのが難点でした。これに関しては、ゲームやDTMはのめり込み過ぎずに1～2時間おきに休憩と取れ、という事なのでしょう（良い方に解釈します）。総合的に判断して、このヘッドフォンはとても良い買い物だったと思います。 « moins

I don't know why some people knock these headphones. I know so many sound engineers that swear by these. I use these for tracking. I use these for monitoring mixes. I use these for listening through my computer. They work well everywhere. I have a set of AKG 712's. I have a set of ATH M50X's and for whatever reason these headphones are ALWAYS the closest to what comes out of my studio monitors. They aren't fancy shmancy. They fit comfortably on my head though some people complain about the ear cups being too small. I have not found that to be the case. They are lightweight. It doesn't take a headphone amp to drive these. I think they have a nice even sound. I can see why professional engineers like these. They are overall pleasant to work with. If I had to choose between these and the AKG 712's I'd take these hands down because they are much more versatile. They track well. They get you close enough in your mixes to where when you do kick on your studio speakers the difference isn't night and day and everything sounds good on these. Personally I think if they quadrupled the price on these people would take them more seriously as people tend to think a good set of headphones should be expensive. I would say those people are dead wrong and enjoy the prestige of spending a lot of money unnecessarily. These are just a great solid set of headphones at a reasonable price. 【総評】最近eイヤホンさんで購入し、普段はWM1Aに直差しで楽しんでいます。なお。レビューに際して聴いている音源はオーケストラを中心としたクラシック音楽になります。SONYのモニターヘッドホンとして有名な兄妹モデルにCD900STがありますが、本機も若干のキャラクターの違いこそあれどこの7506も実に素直な鳴りをしており、満足しています。【音質】CD900STと違い、ハウジング内に吸音材がないためか低域・高域においてすこーしだけ変な反響があるようにも感じられますが、それを差し引いても十分に高音質と言えるでしょう。音場は近く、決して広くありません。小さな部屋の中で鳴っているような雰囲気です。しかし、定位は非常にはっきりしており、高すぎない解像度と合わせて、楽器の種類が多いアコースティックな音源ではとても心地よく聴くことができます。本来のモニターヘッドホンとして、現場ではどのように使用されているのか具体的には知りませんが、音の粗を探すようなヘッドホンではなく、音のバランスを測るようなヘッドホンだと感じました。また、音の全体的な傾向としてCD900STよりも確かに低域に重心が寄っているような感じはありますが、主張する低音ではありません。ズンドコとはきませんが、わりと包み込むような鳴りをするので個人的にはとても気にいっています。【使いやすさ】本機はバンドが折りたためるようになっており、意外と持ち運び性もいいです。最近のSONYのヘッドホンと比べると装着感が劣りますが、決して悪くありません。もう少し遮音性があってもいいかな、とも思いますが、ここはイヤーパッドを交換するなど工夫をしてみてもいいかもしれませんね。 « moins

I've used these headphones for 10 years at my current job for almost 8 hours a day and I wouldn't even think of switching headphones. I've been an audio producer for 10 years at the same company and use these every day. 10 years and last year I just got a new pair. Where I work I unfortunately can't use my $1000 studio monitors because of lack of soundproofing and adjacent offices that I would disrupt. I was given these headphones when I started and loved them. I use them for audio imaging, production, mixing and mastering. When I finish a project I listen back on the studio monitors and it's a match. These headphones give you a clean, exact representation of the sound being input to them. They don't add bass that wasn't there like other headphones that are more advertised for general public use. These give you the TRUE source sound.

They are COMFORTABLE! I wear these for 10 hours a day sometimes. Most over-ear headphones squeeze your head and these don't. The padding makes them comfortable. Now, if you wear them as much as I do the foam will start to break up over 3 years or so...they sell padding replacements!! The only thing that killed my last pair after almost 8 years was that the wire rubbed raw against a desk corner it ran across. Nothing actually wrong with the phones. It was 8 years of a wire rubbing on a desk corner.

Guess I should mention that I even use these at home. Also, because of me, so does my 65 year old mother. She loves listening to Yanni on them. I hear "Reflections of Passion" is "utterly beautiful" through these, haha. I can't speak higher of these. Totally pro all around.

You don't need to spend more money because in this case money doesn't equal performance. If I want pure audio quality I'll ESPECIALLY pick these over more expensive headphones. I don't want bass, or "noise-cancelling" stuff added by headphones because that's what a consumer wants. If you're looking at these it's because you want true sound. « moins

Sound:
For 10 years, I rocked a set of Sony MDR 7505 headphones in my home studio to get the job done on stereo mixes and I started noticing some attenuation in the right-side driver that caused a couple of issues (the left side was louder and had superior treble response). So after I years of planning to buy the 7506 and I did. It was like a night-to-day difference to have a brand new set of headphones masterfully engineered by the people at Sony that design these for studio use. All of a sudden, I had 100% of all the high-frequency response I was missing out in all of my headphones, including the dying 7505 pair I now use just for the purposes of hearing what a guest vocalist is doing on the board. It had bass response like that I can hear when I'm running through my near-fear reference monitors, and just had so much more depth to the dynamics than what I had been hearing. I do not recommend using these, however, for casual everyday listening. The low-frequency response is meant to be flat in the 80-800 Hz range and not scooped the way "pro-sumer" headphones are designed to "un-flatten" a mix for bass-craving music consumers. Techno fans notwithstanding, unless you're a DJ or you mix music professionally, you won't like these cans as much as you might like a pair of "beats." Otherwise, if you are, this pair should be your primary tool for the trade.

Features:
Unlike the 7505s, the 7506 does not pivot and lie-flat inside of its protective, leather bag which is only a minor hit. Another minor hit, although a bit more important, is that there's very little protection offered by the wire that comes out of the padded ear cups that loops through the head piece. It come right out, is clamped onto the sides with a tiny piece of plastic and is otherwise, fully exposed. In short? Be very gentle with these. It's not fragile but if you have kids, or you are on location doing a gig as a DJ, definitely make sure to keep an eye out to ensure they don't get damaged in some way.

Ease of Use:
It's plug-and-play just like the 7505s. You screw on the 1/4" TRS adapter, insert into your headphone jack on the mixer or turntable and you're good to go.

Quality:
I fully expect this 7506 to last me another 10 years the way my 7505 did, but I am also very careful. That said, I think that the surface of the ear padding will flake off after 8 or 9 years just because that's what the 7505 did. Perhaps it won't because they might be making them better now. These cans feel more "buff" and like they can tolerate being pressed up against the oils that naturally occur on ones face that can damage things like this.

Value:
You'll pay more for other headphones that sound just as good as these if not more biased (either color in the low or high frequencies). I have a pair of professional Sennheiser that are not as objective in helping me mix as these, so I strongly recommend these.

Manufacturer Support:
I have never had to call Sony for any reason to deal with any of the pro gear I've purchased from them in the last 20 years. That said, I have to believe that if you do, you're going to get taken care of really well.

The Wow Factor:
They're not as round as the 7505s so I do not like the way it looks As much but it's more about what they sound like to me, and when you put them on, they feel good and sound terrific. That's pretty much all that counts.

Overall:
I don't expect to replace this product intentionally ever. If it were stolen for some stupid reason, I would be very angry and then I would buy this one. If it were discontinued, I would want to buy the one Sony is making that is as similar to this one as possible. « moins

モニターヘッドホンとしての国内スタンダードモデルはCD900STが有名ですよね。このヘッドホンはCD900STの能力派生特化版と考えればわかりやす…くはないので、もう少し分かりやすくいうと別フォーム版て感じです。仮面ライダークウガで言えばペガサスフォームだし、ゲッターロボで言えばゲッター2、東京都で言えば都庁ロボみたいな、そんなイメージです。間違いなくモニターヘッドホンなのですが、中音域を著しく下げたドンシャリ。ドンシャリなのに超解像度・超明瞭。雑音の多い外での取り扱いを考慮したチューニングなのかな？また、ケーブルは長いカールコード。本体は折り畳みできる。イヤーパッドは深くなっており耳を覆うため遮音性抜群。CD900STと見た目は似ていても結構な差があります。モニターですが、リスニングも楽しめるバランスだと思います。欠点としては、カールコードのカール部分が長すぎて重いこと。野外での使用を考慮するならカール部分だけでももう少し短いほうがいいと思います。カール部分が重くてダラーンとなり取り回しし辛い。他は良いヘッドホンです。値段も安いし信頼性高いブランドですしね。 « moins

When doing some research for good-quality, "flat response" headphones, these continually came up as highly recommended. Then, I happened to see them being worn by the directors of two separate movies during the extra features! This sealed the deal for me, and I was not disappointed with their actual performance once they arrived. For my main application, which is digitizing voice-audio from off of cassette tapes (some of which are very old and poor in quality), it is essential when adjusting the equalizer that the headphones are not introducing their own frequency enhancements or attenuations along the entire spectrum. Sennheiser's are supposed to do this too, but I was terribly disappointed with a pair I bought recently (it is possible I just happened to get a bad pair, because the reviews for them are high as well, but really, the audio from these is almost dollar-store level in quality). These MDR-7506's are well constructed, very comfortable, and I use them with no problem for classical music also. The cord and audio-jack (which is switchable between two sizes) are both high quality - although for my purposes it might have been preferable not to have the heavy-duty Slinky/accordion type of cord. My Nakamichi's allow for unplugging the cord at the headset, and using any another other one I might prefer. This is a great feature which I wish other manufacturers would imitate more often. But anyway that is nit-picking: I am very satisfied with my Sony MDR-7506 purchase. If you are looking for realistic "uncolored sound," and professional-level quality, all for around $100, these are a great choice. « moins

Sound is very good IMHO. My main use food them is for tracking and just general listening back to tracks and mixes, and for programming drums on my laptop. I have used them for mixing and when I listen the next day on my studio monitors the mixes have been pretty close, so I think they do have a good, flat and wide freq response. Not too boomy or bassy, but a nice natural bass and smooth, clear highs.

Cons: (these are not huge, but just to be honest here)
They are too small to be "over ear" monitors, and they get uncomfortable after an hour or less for me.
There's something about the way they fold up I don't like. The metal sides slap together and it feels fragile or something. I would actually prefer they didn't fold up.
For some reason the chord gets in the way more so than other headphones I have used, possibly because it is light and coily? I have some over ear phones that have a heavier coiled chord that sort of falls away from you where these seem to be more springy. Minor stuff. Overall great little headphones. They would be good if you like something like "Beats". I think these would be a much better value. « moins
