I'm using startx to start i3-wm and also have ~/.Xresources file with some basic Xterm configuration. touch ~/.Xresources. That'll make an .Xresources file, there won't be anything in there, but it's there. If you need .Xresources to customize urxvt, use this command urxvt --help 2>&1| sed -n '/: /s/^ */! URxvt*/gp' >> ~/.Xresources. permalink; embed
