Does Beecraigs shut?
Visitor Centre is only closed on 1-2nd January and 25-26th December each year. The Park is open throughout the year and admission is free. Beecraigs' sister Parks are Polkemmet Country Park near Whitburn and Almondell & Calderwood Country Park near Broxburn.
What is the history of Beecraigs Country Park?
Beecraigs Loch was formed by the dam built at its east end by German prisoners during the first world war. In the shadow of the dam is the site of the old trout farm. North of the loch you emerge from beautiful woods, complete with a badger sett, into the high grassland that forms the deer farm.
