Description
DESCRIPTION
COSMETIC FORMULATIONS
Technical Field
This invention is about the use of fresh and dried yogurt formulations, by making use of its emollient, cicatrisant effects, in pharmaceutical, cosmeceutic and cosmetic products as an active ingredient or vehicle in; hair products, hand and body care products, body cleaning products.
Prior Art
Yogurt has a prophylactic effect on many illnesses by strengthening the immune system. It is known that lactic acid bacteria that are used in yogurt and yogurt production are preventive in; cancer, infections, gastro intestinal illnesses and asthma. Besides these properties, it acts as a source of proteins, lipids, vitamins and minerals. Yogurt cleans the skin, nourishes, moisturizes, balances the lipid quantity and the acid/alkaline ratio of the skin.
According to the EP 0 315 541 B1 ; the use of yogurt and kefir for cosmetical purposes is explained. In a powder formed cosmetical composition, which contains 50%-85% (weight %) lyophilised yogurt or kefir, has refreshing effect and contains at least one acidity receiver.
In patent EP 0 518 192 B1 , a natural cosmetical agent used for skin or hair care is explained. The composition contains the following juices; parsley, cellery root and leaves, dandelion leaves, kiwi and beside these juices, it also contains, yogurt, olive oil and see salt.
In the patent GB 2 037 160 a product is explained which by which the lipid is extracted from "fat poor" lyophilised milk. The obtained product is rich in amino acids, which also at the same time contains yogurt's contents and the bacterial metabolites that are used in yogurt production, suitable for the creams which will be used cosmetically and pharmaceutically.
In WO 2006/076946 patent, a cleaning agent is explained which has an emollient effect and which controls the skin humidity, containing a surfractant, a protein which is extracted from yogurt (in low concentrations like 0.5%) a plant extract and/or vitamins and provitamins.
Objective of Invention
The aim of this invention is to make use of yogurt due to its, cleaning, humidifying, emollient and sicatrizant effects originating from its chemical and biological composition, in dermatological, cosmetical, cosmeceutical and pharmaceutical, shampoos, creams, liquid soaps, shower gels, emulsions, and foams.
Description of the Invention
Topic of the invention is the use of fresh or dried yogurt in dermatological, cosmetic, cosmeceutic and pharmaceutical products, by making use of its emollient, sicatrizant and neurishing properties; due to lactic acid, essential fatty acids, enzymes, proteins, lipids, vitamins and minerals. Dry or fresh yogurt can be used as a vehicle or active ingredient in bath and shower gels, liquid soaps in concentrations between 1%-75% and also in topical emulsions, creams and foams between 1%-70% as a vehicle or active ingredient.
In addition, the formulations may, besides fresh and dried yogurts' contain, olive and almond oil, which support skin's barrier properties, supplying essential fatty acids and squalen, to the skin and hair, dexpantenol which has sicatrizant effect, pantothenic acid (or dexpantenol) which promotes healthy hair growth, and which also contains E and C vitamins.
The ingredients are used in the following concentrations; olive and almond oil 0,1 %-15%, dexpantenol 0,1%-10%, vitamin E 0,01 %-5%, vitamin C 0,01 %-10%, panthotenic acid 0,1 %- 10% (only in the shampoo form). Yogurt can be used fresh, spray dried or as the lyophilised form.
Dried or fresh yogurt , which are present in medical dermatological, cosmeceutical and pharmaceutical skin products, has sicatrizant and emollient properties and is used in ameloriation of wounds, in burn treatment and as an emollient in dermatitis. At the same time due to its emollient and scatrizant effects, yogurt can be used in shampoos, liquid soaps, shower gels, alone or in an excipient, which can by itself regulate the skin flora, to dispell the dryness, to nourish, to balance the alkali/acid equilibrium and in supporting the barrier properties of the skin.
Different formulations are obtained which contain yogurt, almond oil, olive oil, dexpanthenol, vitamin E, vitamin C and panthotenic acid. In these formulations olive oil, almond oil are
used as excipients, dexpanthenol as a scatrizant , arlagard E or methylparaben as preservatives, sodium lauryl sulfate and alike as inorganic surfractants, antioxidants like citrid acid, vitamin C and vitamin E, sorbic acid, tetrasodium EDTA and alike, panthotenic acid as a sciatrizant and epithelizant, also contains lyzin hydrochloride, oats extract, cocamidopropil betain having skin nourishing effects.
