The present invention relates to a housing of a electrical or electronic device comprising at least one according to the shape of the housing or part of it Shaped plate-shaped element. The invention particularly concerns housings of, for example Data processing equipment such as computers, Computer screens, printers, computer keyboards or Housing of telephones or mobile devices, without on these areas of application to be limited.

From DE 20 01 4360 U1 it is known in principle that Keyboard of a computer based device for use in Train darkness illuminated.

Die Beleuchtung der Computertastatur dient in erster Linie dazu, deren Erkennbarkeit für den Benutzer bei mangelnder Raumbeleuchtung zu verbessern.DE 29 70 8007 U1 describes the use of a separate luminaire for illuminating one Computer keyboard, which in principle is a relative small-sized lamp of conventional design. The Illumination of the computer keyboard primarily serves their recognizability for the user in the event of a lack To improve room lighting.

The present invention has another idea. The object of the present invention is to provide a housing for a electrical or electronic device predominantly to educate design purposes quasi self-luminous. A solution according to the invention provides this object Housing of an electrical or electronic device with the Features of the main claim.

Different from the cited prior art according to the invention not the housing of an electrical or electronic device illuminated by an external light, but the housing is self-illuminating, without the  Viewer uses a discrete illuminant as perceives such. The lighting of the case serves less the purpose of creating more light around the device work, but rather the device should be aesthetic be designed appropriately.

According to the housing of the electrical or electronic device in parts or as a whole from one or several plate-shaped elements, which according to the housing shape or according to a part of the Housing shape are shaped. This means that the plate-shaped elements have any contour can or can be simply flat plates. The You can create a contour by starting from a plate-shaped element preferably made of plastic this by deep drawing into the corresponding housing shape reshaped or corresponding parts of the desired housing shaped. According to the invention, the housing can consist of several flat or shaped plate-like elements of this type put together, each of which has at least one lamp, preferably a number of lamps are assigned, the front light into the plate-shaped element radiate. The light is shaped inside the plate Elements guided in the manner of a light guide and thus follows also inside the plate-shaped element, its contour and preferably spreads in the plate-shaped element about evenly. The light is then scattered over as light the surface of the plate-shaped element preferably for Outside of the housing or at least partially to Outside of the housing given by a light-scattering effect is generated. This light scattering Effect is created by being at least partially the plate-shaped element at least on one side Printed surface, sandblasted, etched, coated, engraved or glued, or alternatively that plate-shaped element inside with a provides light-scattering structure. The latter can for example, by specifically using  accordingly focused laser radiation inside the plate-shaped element creates a faulty structure that the the light deflecting light-scattering effect is achieved.

If you want the light scattering effect on the surface of the Create plate-shaped element, then you print this preferably with a dot, dash or similar grid or generates such a grid Sandblasting, etching, coating, engraving or pasting with Particles.

The lamp or lamps are preferably arranged so that they don't get their light directly from the case blast outside. For this purpose, the lamps are preferred covered, e.g. B. by profile frame or the like. Such profile frames can also be used to plate-shaped elements from which the housing is built, to hold. This will send the bulbs that are in the The light is usually dimensioned accordingly small face into the plate-shaped element and over the The surface of the plate-shaped element becomes light Redirection due to the light-scattering effect approximately at right angles emitted to the frontal direction of radiation. The Illuminant is preferably not noticed, so that the viewer the housing of the device as a whole appears luminous. The plate-shaped elements, from which the housing according to the invention can be constructed be more or less transparent or even more so opaque.

Is preferably used according to the invention as a lamp LEDs or SMDs have various advantages. To the one of these lamps can be very small dimension and have a comparatively small Power consumption. By using an adequate Number of pieces can be the required light output achieve. These lamps also have the advantage that they can be easily controlled electronically, whereby  one by using lamps, for example in the different basic colors and corresponding control light can produce in any color mixture and this color mix continues at any time can change. So you can see the housing of the electrical or electronic device appear in colored light, possibly different parts of the housing in different Colors and can change this color after lying. This results in a variety of design purposes. You can also use this technique for signaling purposes or Use informational purposes, for example by using that Housing in certain colors such as green, red, yellow etc. shines and these colors have certain meanings for attaches to the viewer.

The use of plate-shaped elements made of plastic, which can be deep-drawn is preferred according to the invention, when it comes to devices with cases of a more complex nature is. For example, poly (meth) acrylic or related Plastics are used.

The features mentioned in the subclaims relate to preferred developments of the invention Solution of the problems. Further advantages of the invention result from the detailed description below.

First, reference is made to FIG. 1. Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of the present invention. This is the housing of a computer, which is constructed from a plurality of plate-shaped elements 11 which, for example, result in an approximately cuboid hollow housing shape. The computer housing can consist entirely or only partially of the illuminable plate-shaped elements according to the invention. The mode of operation of the lighting of the plate-shaped elements 11 results from the sectional view according to FIG. 2. As can be seen there, the plate-shaped elements 11 consist, for example, of plastic or glass plates into which light sources 16 , for example LEDs, SMDs or the like, come from the front side Her light is shone in. The surface of the plate-shaped elements is preferably light-scattering on one side of the surface, which can be achieved, for example, by printing the surface of the plate-shaped element 11 with a corresponding dot pattern. Such a dot grid usually consists of such fine dots that the light-scattering effect is achieved, but the light losses are limited, so that the plate-shaped element 11 can appear transparent or opaque for the viewer and the fine dot grid on the surface for the Under certain circumstances the viewer is hardly noticed. The effect achieved by this arrangement is that the plate-shaped element has a luminous effect over its surface without a discreet illuminant being perceived. As can be seen in FIG. 2, frame elements such as profile frames 14 or the like, which can cover the illuminant 16 to the outside, can be used to surround the plate-shaped elements 11 . The use of LEDs and similar illuminants 16 has the advantage that they are very small, have low energy consumption and can be electronically controlled with simple means to achieve various lighting effects. The light-scattering effect of the plate-shaped element 11 on its surface or in its interior can also be done by other methods such as. B. sandblasting, etching, coating, engraving or gluing the surface or by creating a faulty structure in the interior of the plate-shaped element 11 , for example by irradiation with laser radiation. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, only the principle according to the invention is to be clarified, by means of which the computer housing shown in FIG. 1 is designed to be self-illuminating.

The invention has the further advantage that it is not limited to use with flat plate-shaped elements 11 as shown in FIG. 1. Rather, the plate-shaped elements 11, if they are made of plastic, for. B. can be brought into any shape by deep drawing, the basic principle of the introduction of light into the plate-shaped element 11 and the deflection and emission of light as scattered light over the surface of the plate-shaped element 11 is retained.

Fig. 1 zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel, bei dem z. Fig. 1 shows an embodiment in which, for. B. the front panel of the computer case is not designed to emit light. This does not have to be the case, since the front part of the computer housing can also consist of a correspondingly shaped plate-shaped element 11 . In the exemplary embodiment, a device 19 was drawn in the region of the front plate of the computer housing only by way of illustration in a schematically simplified manner. B. can change the brightness or the color mixture of the lamps 16 if necessary. In the case of a computer housing, however, it is also advisable to carry out the possible control of the illuminants 16 in various variants by means of computer software. Accordingly, one can use, for example, the usual keyboard or the mouse of the computer to achieve desired effects when illuminating the computer housing. In this case, the illuminants 16 would be controlled by the operator of the computer. In addition, it is also conceivable to effect changes in the lighting of the computer housing by means of appropriate control of the illuminants 16 via the software stored in the computer or via the hardware, independently of a control function by the operator. Accordingly, a signal function can be achieved by changing the lighting of the computer housing, for example by assigning certain lighting effects to certain working conditions of the computer. For example, the computer case could be lit green when the computer is working, and lit red when there are hardware or operating errors. Likewise, e.g. B. yellow lighting is conceivable when the device is in a standby function. In addition, the operator can, for example, achieve lighting effects via the device 19 which are independent of the working state of the computer. Warning functions are also possible, for example, in which the computer housing lights up in a blinking mode.

Fig. 3 shows an alternative embodiment in which the principle according to the invention is applied to an illuminable computer screen. Here, too, the housing of the computer screen consists of illuminable plate-shaped elements 11 , which can have any shape as well as any shape. B. deep drawing achievable shape. Here too, for example, profile frames 14 are used, which serve to hold the plate-shaped elements 11 and enclose them and which at the same time can at least partially cover the lamps 16 used. The arrangement of plate-shaped elements 11 , profile frame 14 and illuminants 16 in the edge regions in which a plurality of plate-shaped elements 11 adjoin one another can be similar in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3, as was shown in FIG. 2 for the exemplary embodiment from FIG. 1.

Another exemplary area of application of the invention relates to illuminated telephone sets as shown in FIG. 4. Such a telephone can be made, for example, from deep-drawn plate-shaped elements 11 , which are shaped and connected accordingly. For example, the use of an upper shell and a lower shell is conceivable, similar to the case with conventional telephones on the market in which the housing is opaque and not illuminated. The exemplary embodiment in FIG. 4 shows that illuminants 16 are used here as well, which introduce the light into one or more plate-shaped elements 11 on the face side and which are, for example, at least partially covered by profile frames 14 to avoid direct light emission to the outside. According to the principle of the invention, it is easily possible to redirect the light introduced into the plate-shaped element 11 on the face side within the plate-shaped element in accordance with its shape, so that the deformation of the plate-shaped elements 11 into curved sections with a deflection of, for example, 90 ° or more, such as this is the case, for example, in the case of a telephone apparatus in the illustration according to FIG. 4, is unproblematic according to the invention. The reshaped plate-shaped elements 11 form quasi light guides in which the light radiated on the end face via the lighting elements 16 propagates, in order then to be emitted over the surface of the plate-shaped element 11 due to the light-scattering effect achieved, as indicated by the arrows in FIG. 4 is. Even when the invention is applied to, for example, telephones according to FIG. 4, the lighting of the housing can be designed to be changeable either via function-dependent control elements of the device itself or by the influence of the operator and can be used, for example, for signal functions. For example, the housing may flash when a call comes in or the like.
