Everton outcast Ross Barkley created more chances than Silva, Sanchez or Coutinho in last season's Premier League

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has made it clear Barkley is on his way out of the club - and these numbers make it surprising that the big boys aren't queuing up for him

Ross Barkley is a Premier League footballer looking for a home.

The attacking midfielder is on the way out of Goodison Park having failed to agree a new contract with Everton, although it isn't yet clear where he'll end up as clubs seem put off by the Blues' asking price.

Many are wondering just why he doesn't want to stay with his newly ambitious club where he's been on the books since he was 11, but it seems as though too much water has gone under the bridge for him to make a U-turn and stay on Merseyside.

Ronald Koeman doesn't seem to be a fan, and the Everton boss has even stated that he's "100 per cent" certain that Barkley will leave the club this summer, with Tottenham believed to be his most likely destination.

But should the Merseysider be getting more credit? Judging by one stat from the last Premier League season, he certainly should.

Big Ron isn't a fan(Lars Baron)

Because only four players - Christian Eriksen, Kevin De Bruyne, Mesut Ozil and Eden Hazard - created more chances than Barkley last season, meaning that he outperformed the likes of David Silva, Alexis Sanchez and Philippe Coutinho when it came to creativity.

So should more of the Premier League big boys be knocking on Everton's door to sign him?
