"It's a very easy decision" - Arsene Wenger berates officials over Alexandre Lacazette's offside goal

The France international thought he had equalised for the Gunners but the linesman had raised his flag

Wenger reflects on 1-0 loss to Stoke

Arsene Wenger insisted Alexandre Lacazette's disallowed goal should have stood at Stoke.

The Frenchman thought he had cancelled out Jese's debut strike with a thunderous effort in the second half, but the linesman raised his flag.

Replays appeared to show the France international was fractionally offside, suggesting referee Andre Marriner was right to rule out the effort.

"I think we scored a goal that is not offside. It's a very easy decision. When the ball is kicked he is not offside, Lacazette," he said.

Both Martin Keown and Steven Gerrard argued with Graham Poll in the BT Sport studio that the match official got this decision very wrong at the bet 365 stadium.

"How can the linesman say he is offside there?" asked Keown. "It's got to be the torso, surely it's the body.

"What happens to the advantage being given to the centre-forward? That goal from Lacazette was a great finish, and that goal should have counted for me today."

Gerrard agreed, adding: "It's onside because if there is no advantage to the front man then what is this rule that is out there?
