Everton boss Ronald Koeman has admitted a contract extension for midfielder Ross Barkley is not a priority.
Tottenham are reportedly interested in a move for Barkley who has started 13 of 16 Premier League games under the Dutchman this term.
And when asked about a potential new deal for Barkley, Koeman said it was not at the forefront of his mind.
"We know it’s about 18 months of contract," the Toffees chief said. "It’s not the priority now but in the new year we will have talks.
“The priority now is to play and win.
“I’m not interested in what you write, what you said about future of players. Nobody is knocking on the door.”
Former West Ham skipper Kevin Nolan has urged Barkley to think about a switch to Tottenham if it is on the table.
Nolan believes a move away from Goodison would benefit the England man.
"Being a local lad, I always felt that pressure," Nolan said.
"Ross, being the lad he is from Liverpool, for him to get out of the city and go to a club like Tottenham would be a great career move."
Barkley is expected to keep his place in the Everton starting line-up for Monday night's Merseyside derby.
