'Cheated' Irish boxer Michael Conlan takes on Vladimir Putin after controversial defeat to Russian bantam

After a serious of apoplectic TV interviews Conlan tweeted directly at the Russian Premier with yet more insinuations of corruption

Irish boxer Michael Conlan launched an extraordinary F-word rant at 'cheating' judges after a harsh points defeat by Russia's Vladimir Nikitin in his bantamweight quarter-final.

Conlan, a bronze medallist at London 2012, gave a one-fingered salute to the judges and insisted he would quit the 'corrupt' amateur sport after his blast at the Amateur International Boxing Association.

Speaking on Irish station RTE, Conlan raged: “The AIBA are cheats. They're f****** cheats, as simple as that.

“I'll never box for AIBA again; they're cheating b******s.
