Marseilles: Fresh clashes between England fans and riot police as tear gas fired at crowd

Tear gas has been fired at supporters who had been drinking for most of the day at the Queen Victoria pub in the Old Port district

Shameful England fans disgraced their country amid violent scenes in Marseille for the second day today.

They clashed with Russian supporters and hurled bottles at police.

There were surreal scenes as middle aged tourists wandered in and out of the violence.

As stunned tourists watched in horror they bellowed out: “F**k off Europe we’re all voting out.”

They then sang anti IRA and anti German songs before singing “Sit down if you hate the French.”

French police donned riot gear and staged a series of snatch raids which quietened the fans down for a short time.

One bare chested Russian stood on a traffic bollard and was pelted with beers can. One of the cans hit a fellow fan and he was hustled off to safety.
