The Stockport band will open for Ian Brown and co - along with their Twitter nemeses Sleaford Mods

Blossoms will join The Stone Roses as the main support act for their Wembley show this summer.

The Stockport band, whose debut album topped the charts on its release last year, will open for Ian Brown and co at their previously announced show on June 17.

Sleaford Mods have also been added to the bill - which could make for some awkward backstage encounters after their Twitter tussle last year.

Sleaford Mods started the ruck, tweeting that Blossoms 'sound like Savage Garden with a little bit of sh*t in it'.

Blossoms retorted: "Up early tomorrow for pension day? Careful out there" - and a much more expletive-laden exchange followed
