Man City star Sergio Aguero confirms he will stay at the club next season

The striker scores twice and stars in a great Manchester City win before coming out with the words the supporters wanted to hear.

Sergio Aguero has confirmed he will stay at Manchester City next season.

The Blues legend scored twice in the 5-0 rout of Watford to rack up a career-best tally of 33 goals in a season, and was clearly unhappy to be taken off by Pep Guardiola before he could get his hat-trick.

There has been speculation for the last four months that he may finally leave City this summer, with Gabriel Jesus challenging his position as the number one striker at the club.

Aguero fuelled those rumours by saying, when asked about his future, that it was out of his hands – he said he wanted to stay but it would be the club's decision

But Aguero has responded in spectacular style to the challenge of Jesus, scoring 15 times in his last 16 starts and also becoming a more rounded link-up player.

With other clubs sniffing around Kun, sensing there might be a problem after Guardiola questioned Aguero earlier in the season, that uncertainty lingered until the last day of the season.

Guardiola himself said that Aguero would stay, and the player responded in the affirmative as he left Vicarage Road after another man of the match performance.

Asked if he would be staying, Aguero looked a little nonplussed and replied: “Me? Yes!”
