Tributes have been paid to a leading figure of Manchester’s music scene following his death.
‘Visionary’ DJ and producer Marcus Intalex is understood to have passed away over the weekend.
Fans flooded Facebook and Twitter with tributes to the popular musician, born Marcus Kaye.
The drum and bass pioneer was a popular figure of the Manchester music scene.
Kaye, who boasted a career spanning three decades, was known for his experimental brand of liquid funk, before moving into techno under the name Trevino.
He set up his own labels, Soul:r and Revolve:r.
The former is the one of the most prolific - and longest running - labels in Manchester.
Kaye released his debut album, 21, in 2001 to mark 21 years of involvement in dance music.

The prolific producer released scores of singles and EP over the years.
Brought up in Burnley in Lancashire, Kaye was attracted to Manchester by the glamour of the Factory scene and the Hacienda.
He did the rounds in underground music shops before working on the ‘Jungle Counter’ at Oldham Street institution Eastern Bloc Records.
Kaye, who quickly became a specialist in an emerging drum and bass genre, moved to the city in 1994 before releasing his first single, What Ya Gonna Do.
His ‘Guidance’ club nights became legendary.
Kaye introduced the genre to a new audience as the host of radio shows on Galaxy FM and Kiss FM.
He lived in Urmston, Trafford, as well as Manchester city centre. It is understood Kaye more recently spent time in Berlin.

The circumstances surrounding his death are not yet known.
Legendary Hacienda DJ and journalist Dave Haslam led tributes to the popular musician.
He told the M.E.N: “He was a visionary on a mission. His ‘Guidance’ club nights were huge. His tastes were on the soulful side of drum and bass and his Trevino project did cool techno brilliantly.
“He was into New Order and golf, hence the name ‘Trevino’ [after golfer Lee Trevino].
“He was incredibly self-effacing and had no ego. He was admired in all circles and massively respected by the drum and bass royalty.
“He was a great guy who never made an enemy.”
Electronic duo Chase and Status posted on Twitter: “RIP Marcus Intalex. Such devastating news, another legend, one of Manchester’s greats taken too early.”
DJ and techo artist Ben Klock said: “I’m shocked. He was a great guy with loads of charm and an absolutely amazing producer. We will miss you and your music.”
DJ Boddika said he was ‘truly heartbroken’ and ‘utterly shocked’.
