Everton manager target Frank de Boer 'keen' on taking Blues job

Former Ajax boss wants to replace Roberto Martinez in Goodison hotseat, according to twin brother Ronald

Frank de Boer wants to take over at Everton, according to his brother Ronald

Frank de Boer is “keen” on replacing Roberto Martinez as Everton ’s new manager.

De Boer is without a job having departed Dutch side Ajax earlier this month after claiming four domestic titles during a six-year spell in charge.

The 46-year-old former Holland international is one of several names on the Blues shortlist as the Goodison hierarchy assess their options for the new boss.

And while de Boer has yet to hold talks with Everton, twin brother Ronald – who remains on the Ajax coaching staff – has spoken of his sibling’s eagerness to take on the Goodison challenge.

“Frank is keen,” he said, speaking to the ECHO. “If he has a chance to be in the Premier League, then he will want to take it.

“Everton are a big club and it would be a challenge, but I know for sure he would take the job if offered.

“But that’s up to the management at Everton. He is probably on their list.

“He has to wait and see what the management does at the club, but I hope he will get the job.
