Leicester City could face battle with Everton for Sean Dyche

Everton sacked manager Ronald Koeman on Monday and are said to be lining up Dyche as a replacement

Leicester City could face a battle with Everton if they want Sean Dyche as their next manager.

The Toffees sacked Ronald Koeman on Monday and are said to be lining up Burnley boss Dyche as a possible replacement.

Dyche was installed as one of the early favourites for the vacant Leicester job, after the club parted company with Craig Shakespeare last week.

City bosses were expected to hold initial talks last week to discuss potential candidates with Dyche one of the names mentioned.

Dyche, though, is now the huge favourite to replace Koeman at Everton, as short as 5/4 with some bookmakers.

The Clarets boss is now out to 6/1 to take over at Leicester, fourth favourite behind former Manchester City manager Pellegrini and Wales boss Chris Coleman, as well as former Southampton manager Claude Puel.

Dyche had said he was “flattered” by the speculation linking him with the Leicester job last week but admitted that he was unaware of any approach from the club.

“It’s nice in a way, but it does not mean there’s any truth in it,” Dyche said last week. “It’s another media story built out of nothing.
