Adam Johnson pays £12k for date with Jordan

FORMER Boro star Adam Johnson is splashing the cash after his move to moneybags Manchester City - by paying thousands of pounds for a date with glamour girl Jordan.

The ex-Boro winger, who is a product of the club’s famed youth academy, shelled out £12,000 along with team-mate and fellow England player Micah Richards for the prize at a charity auction.

The glitzy Creme de la Creme Ball was held at a Cheshire mansion to raise cash for Macclesfield Hospital, the Meningitis Trust, the Bliss charity for premature babies and the Give Tilly A Hand appeal for a Newcastle youngster who survived meningitis.

Nearly 700 sports stars, celebrities and VIPs packed into the venue and City stars Jinky, as he was known to Boro fans, and Richards, were seated with Jordan, real name Katie Price.

When it was announced one of the auction items was a dinner date with 32-year-old Katie, Johnson, 23, and Richards, 22, had soon bid £10,000 for the pleasure.

Price then told them to up their price.

“They have been giving it large all night,” she said. “Come on, you can go to £12,000 - who is it you play for, Man City?”

Jinky’s teammate Richards then offered to stump up the final £2,000. Having the final bid of £12,000 accepted, it was reported Johnson, who it is said had posters of Jordan on his bedroom wall as a child, was “grinning like a schoolboy” for the rest of the night.
