In Syria’s rebel-held Douma, which has been under siege for four years, an artist is using weapons to create works of art.
Abu Ali, a baker and an artist, collects rocket debris and empty cartridges and turns them into souvenirs. The 40-year-old artist makes everything from paintings, watches, chandeliers to vases and violins.
Abu Ali, who also goes by the name Mustapha Ramadan, says that his goal is to convey Syrian people’s peace message to the world through his art.
