Celtic fans can't believe embarrassing gaffe as commentators confuse John Hughes with 74-year-old legendary striker

On the pitch was former Raith manager John "Yogi" Hughes, 52 but, in a blunder, he was confused for the 74-year-old Celtic great of the same name.

Celtic fans watching this afternoon's charity match couldn't believe what they were hearing from broadcaster Premier Sports who continually made an embarrassing blunder.

The clash, which Henrik's Heroes won 5-2 after taking on Lubo's Legends in front of a packed crowd, included former players and celebrities.

One of those was former Falkirk, Hibs and Raith manager John "Yogi" Hughes, aged 52. Hughes also played for Celtic in the mid-90s.

But, in a blunder, this Yogi was repeatedly confused for the 74-year-old legendary Celtic striker of the same name. The commentators kept saying he was "playing well for a 74-year-old".

It’s incredible they thought a man of that age could run about a pitch.

It didn't take viewers long to pick up on the error - and they weren't forgiving.
