This is the first image of the suspected gunman responsible for the 'worst mass shooting in US history'.

64-year-old Stephen Paddock has been named as the shooter who shot dead crowds of revellers at a country music event on the city's world famous strip.

It is thought he killed at least 58 people when he opened fire at a music festival in Las Vegas.

Stephen Craig Paddock was killed inside a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

Police said the shooter was a “local individual” who was firing from his hotel room above the concert area.

He was killed after a police SWAT team blew the hotel door open and then shot him dead.

Inside the hotel room, police found numerous firearms.

It's emerged Paddock, had lived on Babbling Brook Court in Mesquite, near Las Vegas since June 2016.
