Former Coventry City midfielder James Maddison's career continues on an upward curve.

The Coventry-born player has established himself in Norwich City's first team with some dazzling displays that were this week rewarded with a call-up to England Under-21s.

The Canaries have lost their last two games, but Daniel Farke's men remain in touching distance of the play-offs and Maddison has enjoyed a terrific start to the season.

The Sky Blues Academy graduate won the Championship's Goal of the Month for his strike against Middlesbrough in September, before scoring the winner in the East Anglian derby, making him one of the hottest young prospects in English football.

We get the lowdown on the talented midfielder from Eastern Daily Press reporter Paddy Davitt:

When did the interest come about?

"While Neil Adams, who was Norwich boss at the time, watched him play for Coventry during Jacob Murphy's spell at the club, the move would have been driven by the the Chief Executive back then, David McNally.

"Tottenham and Liverpool were linked to Maddison and a lot of people in the business knew Coventry were developing a real young talent.
