Illusionist Derren Brown has cancelled his shows at Cambridge's Corn Exchange tonight and tomorrow.
The performer said he was "utterly mortified" but had been medically advised not to perform
He said he would be aiming to return to the stage as soon as possible to finish his Underground tour, which sold out its London run.
Brown said: "I'm so utterly mortified to have to cancel a bunch of shows.
"I love doing this show more than anything else and the tour has been going down a storm.
"I know for many people it's a big deal to make the trip and come see it.
"I'm hoping to recover quickly and get back on the road as soon as I can and complete the tour as planned."
The Cambridge Corn Exchange said that it would be contacting customers regarding refunds.

Brown had been scheduled to perform three shows in Cambridge, starting yesterday (August 17).
Yesterday's show is the only performance to go ahead as planned.
