Body, believed to be missing Deakon Wilkins, found in Floating Harbour near Bristol Temple Meads

A body has been found in Bristol today, believed to be missing man Deakon Wilkins.

Police officers were called to the Floating Harbour near Temple Meads station around 12noon on Sunday, February 5, after the body was spotted.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said: "We were called at about midday to reports of man's body in the Floating Harbour under the bridge in Oxford Street.

"The body has been recovered from the water and although formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of missing man Deakon Wilkins have been advised."

Deakon had been missing since he left Motion nightclub in Bristol in the early hours of Saturday, January 14, 2017.

The young man from Weston-super-Mare was last seen on CCTV heading towards Temple Meads, around 4.30am.

Shortly after he went missing, an appeal went out to help search for clues.

Family, friends and strangers came togehter to hand out flyers, put out posters and search for the much-loved 24-year-old.
