Pep Guardiola gives Man City team news update ahead of Wolves EFL Cup tie with Sergio Aguero set to feature

The Premier League leaders are set to field a strong side

CAN WOLVES MAINTAIN THEIR PROMOTION PUSH THIS SEASON?

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has indicated that Sergio Aguero will feature against Wolves on Tuesday night.

The 29-year-old made his comeback after breaking a rib in a car accident in Amsterdam on Saturday as City defeated Burnley 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium to move clear at the top of the Premier League.

And the striker is now set to face Championship Wolves in the EFL Cup tie as he looks to build up his fitness.

"He played after three games," Guardiola said.

"When you are out for three weeks, you always take a little bit to get your rhythm but he got minutes and maybe on Tuesday he will play again.

"That's why it's so important. Today he equalled the record.

"As soon as he breaks it, it will be special and so important for him to be the top scorer in the whole history of the club.

"We will be happy to have that moment with him."
