Steve Bruce has thanked owner Tony Xia for his vote of confidence and insists Aston Villa CAN make the play-offs this season.
Villa sit awkwardly in 14th place and are 13 points off the top-six ahead of tomorrow’s home clash with Ipswich.
Last week Xia spoke out to offer his support for the Villa manager, tweeting ‘No more s*** rumours’ when a supporter explained how one fan revealed a banner calling for Bruce’s head after the defeat at Nottingham Forest.
The boss said today: “I appreciate the owner’s support, that’s for sure.
“The one thing we do need at this club is that togetherness when you’re up against it.
“Everyone has realised the job we’ve taken on, even though, yes we would like it to instantly happen.
Xia also tweeted another message last week as Villa still wait for their first win in 2017.

It read: “We’re still on our 5-10 years’ plan no matter how hard it’ll be. The beginning always the most difficult. Be positive but work steadfastly.”
Bruce is grateful for the support, adding: “I appreciate his thoughts and comments. The one thing we need now is stability.
“Something like 30 ins and outs over summer and Christmas is ridiculous.
“We need to find a team and that’s got to be the aim. Let’s hope new players can hit the ground running and earn us that stability.”
