Top InfoWars editor criticizes Trump after anti-Muslim tweets

A top editor at InfoWars criticized President Trump after the president retweeted anti-Muslim posts from the deputy leader of the ultranationalist Britain First political party.

“Yeah, someone might want to tell whoever is running Trump’s Twitter account this morning that retweeting Britain First is not great optics,” Paul Joseph Watson, InfoWars’ editor-at-large, tweeted.

Trump on Wednesday morning retweeted several videos from Jayda Fransen, the deputy leader of Britain First, that appeared to show Muslims taking part in violent actions.

“VIDEO: Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches!” read one tweet, with a video.

Another tweet said: “VIDEO: Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death!”

Britain First is often accused of having an anti-Muslim bias. Trump regularly touts his “America First” policies.

Alex Jones, a conspiracy theorist and vocal supporter of Trump, runs the InfoWars media outlet. Trump has in the past retweeted posts from InfoWars editors.

Alex Jones has also said in the past he talks to Trump regularly and Trump has called his reputation “amazing.”
