Let's check in on the prospects the White Sox acquired last offseason

The Minnesota Twins thoroughly dismantled the Chicago White Sox, 6-0, as Ervin Santana threw a complete game one-hitter on Saturday.

The Twins jumped on Sox ace — and No. 1 trade chip — Jose Quintana from the first pitch, tagging him for five runs in the first inning. Manager Rick Renteria let Quintana wear this one for a bit before pulling him in the sixth inning after giving up nine hits and five walks with five strikeouts. At 0-3 on the year, Quintana’s ERA is now 6.75 and his trade value is dipping.

This is what Sox fans get to watch while Adam Eaton is becoming a fan favorite in Washington, and Chris Sale remains his dominant self on a Red Sox team with legitimate World Series aspirations. Eaton has brought a spark to the Nationals lineup batting ahead of Bryce Harper. With 37 at-bats as a Nat, Eaton is hitting .297/.426/.486 with four doubles, five RBI, two stolen bases, and nine walks on 10 strikeouts.

Sale’s numbers are right where you expect them to be: 18.2 IP, 1.45 ERA, 11 hits, five walks, and 22 strikeouts (.169 BA/A, 0.86 WHIP).

All of which is to say that things aren’t so fun for fans of the South Siders right now. But the White Sox traded Eaton and Sale for a reason, not to mention a hefty price.

Let’s check in on the prospects Chicago got back for dealing two of their stars:

The regular season might not be the White Sox strong suit right now, but there’s only 152 games until they get to defend their offseason championship.
