Simone Rocha Reveals Her H&M Collection Lookbook
If you have a wishlist of Simone Rocha favorites, her new H&M collaboration is for you. Rather than dream up new styles, Rocha has revived her signatures. “It’s 10 years now since I started, so it was nice to look back through the archive,” she told Vogue’s Sarah Mower when the partnership was announced. “It felt important to pick out pivotal moments that you could recognize as my codes, to share my identity.”
All Rocha’s trademarks, from her bow-trimmed sleeves to her pearl-trimmed collars, are included in the offering, which arrive in H&M stores and online on March 11. Diehard fans will be able to pick out the sequin bralettes from her Louise Bourgeois-inspired spring 2020 collection and the tartan trousers from spring 2014.
The difference this time around? The designer has expanded her offering into extended sizes, menswear, and childrenswear. “When H&M came to talk, I said, if I’m going to do it, I want to do it for everybody, not only women, but for men and children—and to make sure they get the quality,” Rocha told Vogue earlier this year.
In remaking her bestsellers, Rocha’s H&M collection reinforces the idea of house signatures never going out of style. It’s a theme many brands have taken to heart amidst the pandemic: paring down to the essential. Luckily for us, Rocha’s essentials are whimsical, romantic, and friendly to the bodies that wear them. Much better than sweatpants!
