SWEDEN fans broke down in tears after England broke their hearts by ending their World Cup dreams.
Thousands had made the trip to Russia believing they would see the Swedes upset England by sealing a place in the semi-finals.
But Gareth Southgate's side produced a brilliant all-round display to cruise to a 2-0 quarter-final victory in Samara.
And that left the Sweden supporters desolate in the stands after their dreams had been shattered by goals from Harry Maguire and Dele Alli.
One fan wept openly as the match went into the final few minutes, in the knowledge the country's Russia 2018 adventure was coming to a close.
And one blonde fan, believed to be a friend of one of the players, was also full of emotion as the magnitude of the result sunk in.
Swedish fans have brought colour and fun to the tournament on the way to reaching the last eight.
They had been on an emotional roller-coaster ever since Germany snatched a last minute victory against them in the group stages to threaten their chances of making the knockout rounds.
Like England, they had looked at the way this half of the draw has opened up and thought this could be their chance of achieving history.
But on the big stage they watched in frustration as England failed to give their heroes a way into the game.
