The 50-year-old TV presenter appeared emotional in the sweet video online dedicated to those spending the holiday season away from their loved ones or feeling alone.
DAVINA McCall has posted an emotional video on Instagram video to her ‘lonely’ fans at Christmas – as she faced her first festive season since splitting from her husband.
The 50-year-old TV presenter, who broke up with husband of 17 years Mark Robertson in November, looked teary-eyed as she shared the heartfelt message to those missing loved ones.
Speaking directly to the camera, the star said: “Hey everybody – I just wanted to say a very happy Christmas and I wanted to also say happy Christmas to anybody who’s feeling a bit lonely.
“I think it’s one of those days, isn’t it? Where, sometimes even if you’re in a huge group of people it’s quite possible to feel lonely or if you’ve lost someone you really care about, and this is your first Christmas without them, or if you couldn’t get home to your family.
“Anyway, I’m sending everybody a great big Christmassy hug.”
She then encouraged her fans to embrace the things that make them feel better and added: “It’s only a day, and if you are feeling terrible, cuddle up with a duvet, make yourself some food as that’s a nice act of self-love, and go watch some funny Christmas films.
“Lots of love, and I’ll be back at some point on Instagram this week.”
The star’s words touched many of her fans who were clearly feeling low this holiday season – who wrote back to her messages of love and support.
One wrote: “That was so very thought and beautifully said @davinamccall ... have a lovely Christmas and you take care too!! Big hugs 😘”
Another added: “I love you @davinamccall you are not alone you can be with anyone and still feel lonely ❤️❤️❤️❤️”
While a third worried fan added: “Davina your words as always are very kind to Everyone! But ! I can see in your eyes, you need a bloody good hug xx”
Davina and Mark announced they had ended their relationship this year after years of counselling.
No third party was involved.
They have three children together - daughters Holly, 16, and Tilly, 14, and son Chester, 11, and both have said that their wellbeing is their “number one priority”.
Since then she has been seen looking happy and healthy on a holiday getaway to Australia.
