James Bond film No Time To Die ‘set to be delayed until autumn in another pushback’

NEW James Bond film No Time To Die could be delayed again until November, according to reports.

The 25th 007 flick has been plagued by push-backs with studio bosses trying to find a suitable release date amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It currently stands as April 2, but Dutch publication BN DeStem spoke to a cinema owner called Carlo Lambregts who claimed the film's release will now be in November.

While Deadline reported that promotional partners have been told to expect another delay, however, a date wasn't specified.

It would be the third release setback for the film that was originally slated for an April 2020 showing, before being moved to November and then April 2021.

The film is also the most expensive Bond yet at £200million.

The huge bill was revealed in accounts released by its production firm B25.

It is far costlier than the two previous Bonds — 2015’s Spectre (£182million) and 2012’s Skyfall (£138million).

Besides the lavish locations and set-pieces, the film has been dogged by problems.

Director Danny Boyle quit over the script in 2018 and was replaced by American Cary Fukunaga.

Filming was delayed by four more months when star Craig, 52, hurt his ankle on the set.

An explosion at Pinewood Studios, Bucks, left a crew member injured.

Filming wrapped in October 2019 and by the end of December B25 had spent £199.5million.

The cost would have been £47million more but for a tax scheme aimed at encouraging filmmaking at UK-based studios.

Its budget is 250 times that for the first Bond, Dr No in 1962.

Craig has said the film will tie up loose ends from his time as Bond, which began in 2006.

He said: “This movie is about reconnecting him to Casino Royale really, and that’s what we’ve managed to do.”
