Watch Man City and Liverpool fans in mass brawl on way to Community Shield clash at Wembley
A MASS brawl between fans of Manchester City and Liverpool erupted on the London Underground.
Footage shows supporters from both sides throwing punches while travelling towards Wembley Stadium for the Community Shield on Sunday.
The fans were on the Metropolitan Line when it stopped at a station and the two sets of supporters began to clash.
Fighting began at the doors of the tube with one set of supporters on the platform and the other in the carriage.
One fan is seen climbing off the floor as fists are swung and legs are kicked.
Attempts to end the violence are made and the doors to the train appear to close at the end of the clip, which lasts for 1 minute and 12 seconds.
The fans are believed to have been on their way to Wembley for the Premier League season's curtain raiser.
FOOTIE FIGHT
A statement from the British Transport Police said: "BTP officers were called at 2.02pm today 04/08 following a report of a large fight at Great Portland Street Station, London.
"The fight is reported to have involved football fans.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
"Officers are working to identify those involved and at this time no injuries have been reported to the police.
"No arrests have been made.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 and quoting reference 319 of 04/08/19."
City lifted the Community Shield after winning on penalties, thanks to goalkeeper Claudio Bravo saving Georginio Wijnaldum's spot kick.
Pep Guardiola's Premier League champions got one up on Jurgen Klopp's European conquerors ahead of the new season.
City face West Ham at the London Stadium while Liverpool host Norwich on Friday night.
