NOTTINGHAM FOREST owner Fawaz Al Hasawi faces a bitter cash row with the American group who tried to buy the club.

John Jay Moores and his partners gave the Kuwaiti a £2.2 million loan to help pay the wages in December as they finalised their takeover.

And now Moores wants his money back immediately after Al Hasawi dramatically pulled the plug on the deal.

Moores and his group have their debt secured and plan to call it in and that may force Al Hasawi to dig into his own pockets or even sell a player.

Forest also face the loss of striker Apostellos Vellios who was bought when they were in talks with Greek magnate Evengelos Marinakis before that move fell through.

Marinakis wants to sign the forward for Olympiacos. He was left out of the squad at the weekend.
