GARETH SOUTHGATE will strip Wayne Rooney of the England captaincy after his boozy antics.
Southgate is expected to be confirmed as Three Lions boss by the end of the month — but FA chiefs are already investigated the behaviour of England’s stars over the weekend after ten others went to various London nightclubs.

Rooney had been drinking at the wedding reception and rather than go to bed, he disappeared before returning to the party, according to sources at The Grove.
Rooney has already apologised to Southgate for his 5am finish, but Southgate has plans to replace him as captain.

The England striker, who is expected to be passed fit for Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal tomorrow, now faces an uncertain future with the national team.
England’s next game is against Germany in Dortmund in March and then play an World Cup qualifier against Lithuania at Wembley.
The FA are conducting a “proper investigation” after the boozy antics of the squad on Saturday night.

FA chief exec Martin Glenn said: “We’re getting a proper investigation of what actually went on - ‘were there other FA staff involved - yes or no?’ - and we’re doing a review of it obviously.
“It’s disappointing. I think it’s appropriate he apologised because it doesn’t set a great tone for the England captain but, that said, I don’t want to over-dramatise it either.”
“We’re talking to anyone who was there on Saturday night to find out if anyone from the backroom staff was involved and then we’ll take a view, but we don’t know what the facts are yet.”
“I think it’d be ‘why on earth are you doing that given there is an understanding, a team agreement, around alcohol consumption during camps?’, so there would be questions asked for sure.”
