CRISIS CLUB Bolton Wanderers owe Norwich City a 'sizeable' six-figure sum after failing to pay the wages of loan players Yanic Wildschut and Remi Matthews.

The Canaries are fuming that Bolton have not kept up with the monthly payments for winger Wildschut and keeper Matthews despite being told the money would come.

Wildschut chose to join Bolton in the summer window and Bolton were due to pay around £12,000-a-week towards his wages at Carrow Road.

Matthews moved to Wanderers on loan with a view to an 18-month full-time contract, with his partner giving up a job to move north with him. He is on around £6,000-a-week.

Now Matthews has returned to Norwich, where his contract is running out, and facing an uncertain future while Wildschut may move too in this window.

Norwich are ready to go to the Football League to seek help in getting settlement from owner Ken Anderson who is already under fire from Forest Green Rovers for the collapse of the Christian Doidge deal.

Doidge joined Bolton on loan at the end of August, with the switch expected to be made permanent in January.

However, Forest Green chairman Dale Vince claims Rovers have paid the forward’s wages for the last four months and that contracts have been breached.

Vince said: “They have paid nothing, literally nothing, for him for half the season and they don’t care.

“He says to me ‘you can seek a winding-up petition, you can bankrupt the club’ he said ‘I don’t care, I’m a secured lender. I’ll get my money back and you’ll get 10p in the pound’.

“This is a man that lives and operates, I think, in this way.”

Bolton declared they were aware of criticism from Vince, who released a harsh statement following the situation.

It read: "We are disappointed to read the statement as the club has been in dialogue with Mr Vince and Forest Green Rovers over this situation.

"We are hopeful that a satisfactory resolution will follow."

Bolton were to go into administration in September after failing to pay back a £5million loan from an Essex-based company BluMarble.

The club's main creditors have a claim on the stadium as security against the loaned cash.

Wanderers were also threatened with a 12-point penalty by the Football League in the aftermath of the club's situation.
