QPR footie star Steven Caulker arrested and fined for drunkenly throwing objects around London train station
Defender was reported to be trying to hit people and even attempted to place a temporary barrier on someone's head
FOOTBALLER Steven Caulker was arrested after drunkenly hurling objects in a railway station rampage.
The 25-year-old QPR defender, reported to earn £40,000 a week, was trying to hit people — and even tried to place a temporary barrier on someone’s head.
Police were called to Clapham Junction Station in South West London at 12.40am on January 16 and arrested him.
This week Caulker, who has played for England, pleaded guilty at Wimbledon magistrates’ court to being drunk and disorderly.
Prosecutor Mary Atere said: “Officers were responding to reports that the defendant was throwing objects around, trying to hit members of the public.”
The court heard Caulker had been fined in 2011 for a public order offence and had a caution for a similar offence.
Magistrate Elizabeth Hopper told him: “It’s the third time you have been in trouble for doing things out in the street you should not be doing.”
Caulker, of Richmond, South West London, was fined £650 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
