Millwall FC cancel rally at their stadium over fears of violent clashes between feminists and transgender activists
The event, called Transgenderism and the War on Women, was set to be held at The Den until the club faced backlash from transgender activists.
MILLWALL Football Club, once notorious for links to hooliganism, have axed a women’s rights night at their stadium — over fears of violence.
Officials had agreed to let leftie feminists hold a rally, called Transgenderism and the War on Women.
But the club pulled the plug after publicity over the event at The Den sparked a backlash from transgender activists.
Tensions between feminists and trans activists have boiled over at events.
Organiser Venice Allan told The Sun on Sunday: “Millwall were initially quite supportive and said that it wasn’t for them to make a political choice about who hires their rooms.
“But when we made it public, Millwall said they’d never seen anything like it. They were inundated with calls.
"I think they were overwhelmed by trans activists contacting them on every medium.”
The talk was set to cover the impact of possible law changes allowing transgender people to identify as women, and how feminist concerns are shut down by threats and claims of transphobia.

It will now be held at the House of Commons.
Maria MacLachlan, 60, was punched during a row at Speaker’s Corner in London last September.
Ms Allan, who quit the Labour Party last week after it allowed trans people on all-women shortlists, said: “The irony is, it’s LGBT organisations trying to shut down meetings addressed by lesbians."
