But as he continues to evade  justice, Northern Ireland prosecutors will today  announce whether  17  former Paras will face charges over the Bloody Sunday massacre in 1972.

Convicted gun runner Flynn was named in court in the 1980s  as Chief of Staff for the Irish National Liberation  Army.

The INLA  killed  Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary Neave, 63, in a car bombing as he left the House of Commons car park in March 1979. Police suspected Flynn of being directly involved in the plot.

Flynn now runs the Celts Well pub in Santa Ponsa. It is littered with pro INLA slogans, IRA references, republican propaganda and Irish flags — and bans England shirts.

'NO ENGLISH ALLOWED'

Another  bar owner, who did not want to be named for fear of reprisal, said: “We know he is bad, but  we do not get involved or approach him. I’ve butted heads with him a few times.

“He only allows Irish, Scottish or Welsh in there, no English, no other nation, unless you’re a friend of his.”

Last week, the bar was quiet as  it is out of season, but Flynn and his pals were  enjoying themselves inside with the doors closed. When approached by The Sun and asked if he  had any regrets over Mr Neave, Flynn refused to comment. Flynn was in the INLA from 1975 when it was set up as a rival to the IRA.  The same year he was charged with stealing £3,500 in an armed bank robbery in Belfast.

Incredibly, he managed to escape from the court but was rearrested and sent to the Maze Prison where he  tunnelled his way out in 1976.

Five years later, he was caught again after rioting  in Dublin  and was jailed for 18 months.

He was sentenced to five years in France in 1986 for illegally importing £70,000 of weapons. Britain tried to extradite him in 1987 but failed as his crime was deemed “political”.

He is believed to have been  living in Santa Ponsa since around 1998.
