TORY RACE TAUNTS

Conservative candidate for London Mayor Shaun Bailey called a ‘coconut’ and ‘Uncle Tom’ by vile racist lefties

The Tory who will face off against Mayor Said Khan in 2020 has been bombarded with a slew of sick racist attacks by Labour supporters

TORY Mayor candidate Shaun Bailey has been bombarded with a slew of racist attacks by Labour supporters, it was revealed today.

The man who will face off against Mayor Sadiq Khan in the 2020 election has been called a "lying coconut", a "vile disgusting Uncle Tom" and a "token ethnic", he said.

Condemning the attacks on him, he told the Evening Standard: "We cannot have a contest that is plagued by racial abuse, mud-slinging and identity politics.

"These attacks are poisoning the well of public debate and have no place in a modern, progressive tolerant Britain."

Some of the messages sent to him on social media include a Momentum-supporting Labour member tweeting: “Shaun Bailey is the biggest Uncle Tom to walk the planet” and a “vile disgusting Uncle Tom”.

Another Labour member said: "The Tories simply can’t find a candidate with any experience for London Mayor to go against @SadiqKhan  @MayorofLondon so they’ve chosen an Uncle Tom @ShaunBaileyUK."

The former adviser to David Cameron, who has worked with multiple gang violence charities, passed the abuse onto party chiefs to look into.

A string of top Tories piled in to condemn the abuse.

Party chairman Brandon Lewis said: "Labour's gentler, kinder politics??"

And deputy chairman James Cleverly stormed: "Labour's position: all racism is wrong, unless it's aimed at a Tory.

"The list of vile, racist abuse that Shaun Bailey has received from Labour supporters is shocking."

The Windrush descendent has won the party's nomination to fight Mr Khan to be London Mayor in 2020.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid received similar racist abuse when he got the job earlier this year, replacing Amber Rudd.

Since the 38-year-old was promoted, he's been blasted by vicious trolls online - calling him a "p**i", a "coconut" and accused him of not being English".

He told The Sun that the current Mayor has "emboldened criminals" by failing to crack down on crime.

And he's promised 1,000 extra cops to help tackle the horrors in Lawless London.

He told The Sun Online: “His only tool against crime is a begging pot. He’s emboldened criminals, hasn’t he?"

Mr Bailey was under fire last week for a string of controversial statements he made over a decade ago.

In a 2005 pamphlet he hit out at multiculturalism for "robbing Britain of tis community".

And he also said there was an industry of women trying to get pregnant and have a baby to secure benefits and a council home

A Labour Party spokeswoman said: “Labour does not tolerate racism of any kind. We won’t take any lessons from the Tories who deliberately targeted Diane Abbott in their negative general election material.”
