Figures obtained from police forces using Freedom of Information laws show 66 reports of rape, sexual assault and harassment where delivery drivers were suspects.

But the true scale of the danger is likely to be far greater as some constabularies failed to provide data, including the Metropolitan Police.

Of the 22 that did provide information, there were 36 reports of harassment, 20 sexual assaults and ten rapes.

Devon and Cornwall Police recorded five rapes where the suspect was a delivery man.

Surrey, West Mercia, Dorset and Norfolk’s forces also recorded rapes.

Both Dorset and Lincs Police had reported attacks on girls under 13.

West Yorks Police had two reports of sex assaults on females over 13 and Greater Manchester had three reports.
