EX-CRYSTAL Palace owner Simon Jordan was today held up in a terrifying gunpoint robbery over his £100k diamond watch.

The 50-year-old millionaire was threatened by a gun-toting thug as he waited at a set of traffic lights in his Maserati sports car in Croydon, south London.

The ex-footie boss was taking his dad, 80, to a GP in West Croydon when he was confronted by the pistol-wielding motorcyclist this afternoon.

Fearing for his life, the mogul handed over his diamond-encrusted Franck Muller watch - thought to be worth up to £100,000.

He later opened up about the ordeal to TalkRADIO presenter Eammon Holmes, saying: "I stop at the traffic lights and I'm greeted  with someone screaming for me 'to hand over your effing watch'".

"He was becoming more and  more frantic  as the time went on.

"My dad is a very robust 80-year-old man, I had to stop him getting out of the car. He was going 'Right you'.

"That's what clicked me into 'What are you doing Jordan, give this slob what you've got on your wrist"

"I could have had my ten year old daughter in the car, and she could have been privy to that"

Holmes added: "However shocked and shaken you are about this and however appalled you are about this just remember that it could have been worse... He could have pulled the trigger."

He wrote on Twitter: "Today I was robbed at gunpoint in Croydon whilst driving my 80 yr old father fm the doctors ....

"Having a gun in ur face being told he will shoot ur f***ing face off...not the best..he got a very expensive Franck Muller watch but will always be a t***.. what’s wrong with people"

When fellow talkRADIO presenter Adam Catterall wrote "Jesus. Hope you're okay pal", Jordan replied: "Thx mate; I’m ok but minus an expensive watch and a bit of dignity..."

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Armed police attended and spoke to the victim - a man aged in his fifties - who explained how he was sat in his car when he was suddenly approached by a single male suspect on a motorcycle who pointed a gun at him and demanded his watch.

"The victim complied and the suspect who was wearing black clothing with a black a grey motorcycle helmet took the victim's watch and made off from the scene. He fled down London Road towards west Croydon.

"No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue."

He became chairman at Selhurst Park in 2000 - making him the youngest chairman of a Football League club at just 32.

Jordan quickly established a reputation for hiring and firing managers, dispensing with Steve Coppell, Alan Smith, Steve Bruce, Trevor Francis and Steve Kember in the space of his first three years.

Armed police were on the scene in minutes but have yet to make any arrests.

Cops are appealing to the public for any information.

The diamond-encrusted Franck Muller watch is estimated to be worth around £100,000.
