Who is Mark Frost? Paedophile teacher known as Andrew Tracey jailed for abusing boys in Thailand

A RETIRED teacher who admitted 45 sex offences against children both in the UK and abroad has been jailed for his horrific crimes.

Mark Frost, originally known as Andrew Tracey, pleaded guilty to the decades of abuse and now must spend a minimum of 16 years behind bars after being given 13 life sentences.

During a 30-year reign of terror, the monster taught English at schools across the UK, rose up to be a senior figure in the Scouts and even adopted a child.

Who is Mark Frost?

Mark Frost is a former teacher who worked at schools in Worcestershire, Hertfordshire, and Leyton in east London.

He worked under the name Andrew Tracey during his teaching years.

The 70-year-old signed up to the infamous Paedophile Information Exchange in 1978 while working as a teacher.

He was not banned from the profession for another 20 years - by which point he had admitted two sex offences against children.

Frost rose to be a senior figure in the Scouts movement in the 80s and early 90s.

He took up teaching posts around the country and was allowed to adopt a child, despite his interest in young boys.

After two convictions in the 90s, Frost was brought to disgrace and moved to live "under the radar" in Guernsey.

Once off the sex offenders' register he changed his name and moved to Thailand.

What crimes did Mark Frost commit?

Frost has admitted 45 sex offences against children, on top of the two counts he admitted in the 90s.

This included the historical abuse of two male pupils in the UK in the late 80s and 90s.

It also related to offences against nine boys, aged between 10 and 14, in Thailand between 2009 and 2013.

Last year Frost admitted 22 charges of sex attacks on children in Thailand and distributing indecent images.

The monster also confessed to a further 17 charges in Thailand six counts of buggery against two former pupils in the UK.

The charges include rape, sexual assault, causing or inciting sexual activity with a child and making indecent images of a child.

In 1992 he admitted possessing indecent photographs of a child and was fined £200 by Evesham magistrates.

And in 1993 he was jailed for a year at Worcester Crown Court for allowing his premises to be used for drugs and sex with an under-age girl.

What did the judge say when jailing Mark Frost?

JUDGE Mark Lucraft handed one of Britain's worst paedophiles 13 life sentences.

Judge Mark Lucraft QC said: "This is the most appalling catalogue of sexual abuse. "At least 11 boys between the ages of 11 through to 15 have been the victims of your offending.

"It is clear that you groomed young boys and then abused them to give yourself and others sexual gratification.

"It is clear that you have an ongoing obsession with sexually abusing young boys.

"I have no hesitation in coming to the conclusion that this is one of those cases that goes beyond the scale of the guidelines.

"You are someone who poses a significant risk of serious harm to the public.

"Your conduct to each and everyone of these victims is horrific and deeply disturbing.

"Despite your age you are someone who will continue to present a very high risk to children of serious sexual offending."

Where was Mark Frost arrested?

Frost was arrested in Thailand in 2013 on suspicion of child sex offences, but he managed to escape without being charged or extradited.

The former English teacher is thought to have skipped between European countries in a bid to stay free.

He was eventually captured in Alicante, Spain, last year.

When was Mark Frost convicted?

On February 8, Mark Frost was handed 13 life sentences at the Old Bailey for exploiting and sexually abusing vulnerable young boys across the globe for 30 years.

Judge Mark Lucraft QC said he  must spend a minimum of 16 years behind bars and only be able to apply for parole when he is 86.

How was Mark Frost allowed to adopt a child?

A police probe has been launched after Croydon Council allowed Mark Frost to adopt a child - despite knowing of his links to the Paedophile Information Exchange.

During a 30-year reign of terror, the monster is feared to have molested and raped dozens of boys in Britain and overseas in crimes dating back to the 1980s.

Some of his horror abuse took place when his son was present, the court heard.
