YouTube star Chicken Connoisseur’s Pengest Munch sidekick unmasked as a violent paedophile who groped a school girl and tortured a disabled man
Chicken Connoisseur, real name Elijah Quashie, has racked up millions of online hits with his show reviewing south London takeaways, called "The Pengest Munch."
YOUTUBE star Chicken Connoisseur has come under fire after his latest viral video sidekick was revealed as a convicted paedophile.
The online food critic, real name Elijah Quashie, has gained plenty of fans and millions of online hits for his show reviewing south London takeaways, called "The Pengest Munch."
But he has found himself in hot water after it emerged his latest companion rapper Bonkaz is a convicted sex offender.
Bonkaz, real name Taylor Harris, was convicted of groping a 13-year-old girl in 2010 and ordered to sign the sex offenders register.
He was also jailed for three years in 2011 after taking part in the brutal kidnapping and torture of a 22-year-old disabled man.
The video featuring Harris saw the online critic and Bonkaz travel to Thornton Heath, south London, where they ate together at Morley's fast food restaurant.
But furious fans have slammed him for "the worst episode yet" and urged him to get rid of Harris and "stick to the basics".
Twitter user Rickey Abbott said: "Worst episode yet. Get rid of the convicted sex offender & other tw*ts & stick to the basics which made you funny and dope!"
Twitter user iProZain responded to the video saying: "s*** episode tbh, the rap was sh*t and you feature a guy who's been arrested twice and a sex offender."
More fans, commenting on Reddit, said: "He's literally a sex offender. What a way to ruin your youtube channel."
But, responding to the criticism on YouTube, Elijah said: "Neeks might be clueless to who Bonkaz is, but I'll tell you all now, 'Wings An Dat' would just be 'Wings' if I never knew who he was."
Harris has tweeted he did not commit sexual assault and blamed "poor legal advice" for his conviction.
Elijah travels around London testing out chicken shops in search of London’s ‘pengest munch’.
The 23-year-old describes himself as “a food critic for mandem who care to know what the finest chicken restaurants in London are and where to find them.”
In one video he visited “Chick King” in Tottenham, where he slams the eatery for its "weak" wing flavour.
Thankfully they were saved by the texture due to the breadcrumb covering. Although, they are "not far off mediocre".
On the chips, he says: “They were fat chips. Which was gassed about at first. I was thinking ‘boom’ they are gonna be soft chips. That wasn’t the case. Nothing special.”
He said the burger was “not peng at all” - a slang word for great. In fact it was just "hench", another slang word and this time he was describing how the burger was too large for his liking.
He finishes off the video by saying that he nearly “chewed on a bone” and that “man's life is on the line”.
In his series of YouTube videos he visits small independent chicken shops and appears to shun big-name brands.
He comments on the cost, appearance and most importantly, the taste of the food. Sometimes he even takes time out to show of his "fresh creps", also known as trainers or footwear.
His honest and funny reviews has caused a stir social media, including winning praise even from big name food critics Jay Rayner and Giles Coren
Writing on Twitter, the Observer’s food critic said: “Next level food reviewing, brilliantly done”. In reply, Coren said: “...kid's a natural. Properly funny.”
In the first episode on YouTube the Chicken Connoisseur visits "Taste of Tennessee" in east London and address the issue of which order the items should be eaten in.
Wings always before chips - it's the rule, he says.
In the second episode he visits Eden’s cottage in Finsbury Park. He orders three chicken strips, burger, drinks and chips and calls it a “cheeky deal”.
He adds that the shops has the “livest deals for the cheapest prices.”
An unhappy third visit to Dixy chicken in Tufnell Park, as he complains that the burger sauce is a "myth".
This was due to the "radioactive burger sauce", which was "bare gloopy".
He has also visited shops in Waterloo where he finds "peng chips" which soak up the salt to his satisfaction.
